Schools Close Across the Nation Because of Influenza
More than a dozen cities and counties in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Nebraska closed their schools this week (Jan 22-26) in response to outbreaks of influenza. Scores of schools and thousands of students were affected. This is a surprisingly high number, considering the relatively mild flu season so far (see detailed epidemiology in main article).
